New Field in Asset Layout for Ports: Network / Power / Serial / Universal Port
We should be able to add "Ports" in an Asset Layout wich could be linked to other Ports of Other Assets. A port needs to be a mini "Table":
Port-ID; Typ(Network-Copper/Fibre; Power; USB; Serial ….); Label/Description/Tag;Linked to Port Field; CableColor
Maybee in a Second-Step a "Treeview" would be nice, to see what is affected it one Cable is Disconnected.

With the new field we could create an Asset "Patch-Panel" and Add Ports as needed.

This would allow patch panels, routers, and switches. Really anything with ports that need to be documented
We could map a switch port to a patch pannel front port. then the back port of the same pannel to a jack in a room and then that jack to a printer. All these objects would be mapped to these ports.
Have the port be a field you can add to any asset layout, with the option of having a front and back on that same port. This could even evolve into dynamic network diagrams and charts.
Please consider this.
