Having company specific KB be a child of the parent template is fantastic, but ideally there should be a way to manage downstream merges.
For example, something gets added to your process, so you add it to the master template. You can then run a tool to merge that into all of the children one by one, similar to how merge changes in any other document manager would work.
This ensures that your children never end up orphaned from changes to the parent.
