Kristen W. Is this still "In Progress". I can no longer see it on the RoadMap. Would be great to have this feature.

Definitely this. The ability to have generic stencils already supplied would be nice, but also the ability to add your own stencils as a template and chose those would also be great.
Additionally, the ability to document what plugs into both sides of the patch panel both with a text-based label and the ability to link it to an existing asset or create a new one.

I would love if there was an option for Mark as… Patch Panel and then a text field where I can name it. Also Mark as… Cable Manager would be great, theres no need for a name there, but bouth should be able to get a role.

Jonny Hjorter - Agreed that this would be great. Patch panels, blank (namable as blank, vent, cable guide, PDU) and have it show up in the view as that type of item. Patch panel and PDU documentation might get challenging since there's lots of variation. But still, +1 for this
is this some kind of mini rack mini patch panel? It would be worth having multiple versions of patch panel to suit different types of patch panels out there in the field. The main ones I see and manage are one row with 24 ports with either 3 lots of 8 (3 x 8 = 24) or 4 lots of 6 (4 x 6 = 24).

Jay B. That is pretty slick, I followed the bread crumbs, seems like another group picked up the plugin, link on the github. Thanks for sharing.

I think this would be the better option for a feature request.
This would allow patch panels, routers, and switches. Really anything with ports that need to be documented
We could map a switch port to a patch pannel front port. then the back port of the same pannel to a jack in a room and then that jack to a printer. All these objects would be mapped to these ports.
Have the port be a field you can add to any asset layout, with the option of having a front and back on that same port. This could even evolve into dynamic network diagrams and charts.
Please consider this.

This feature would be incredibly useful for our team as well! Proper patch and switch port-level documentation would save us a huge amount of time.
