The new interface adds more visual noise, a lower information density, less used space, and more clicking and scrolling.
The prior search interface had far less UX friction.
This has had a distinct and measurable effect where some users have been giving up on searching for a documents and concluding they do not exist, simply because it's taking so much more time and effort to search.

This new UX is actively damaging production.
