There is currently no way to tell whether an existing asset layout originated from one of Hudu's pre-built templates. Admins auditing an inherited or long-running environment have to create a fresh layout from each template and manually compare fields, icon, and description to make an educated guess. That method degrades quickly once a layout has been customized, and it fails entirely on heavily modified layouts.
Proposal: store the source template on layouts created from one, and surface it as a "Created from [template name]" indicator on the asset layout list and detail pages. This would let admins see at a glance which templates are in use, and make it easier to spot layouts that have drifted from the template's default configuration.
