Better Alert Filtering

The alerting function is very basic right now. I would like to be able to specify more custom filters or parameters. At minimum I should be able to specify the alert based on the asset type, not just the generic "Expiration Type".

There should be other custom filters that can be created as well. For example, in domain notes we would write in "Customer Manages Renewal" and even though the expiration is tracked, if we specify that the notes field has that phrase in it, we won't get alerted.

    I'm glad Hudu has great API support, because it looks like we'll be getting our dev team to build an alerting system that supports filtering and exclusions!

    For example, we want alerts when certificate are close to expring. However, we do not want alerts when that certificate is issued by Let's Encrypt.

    We also have clients that manage their own certificates and don't want us to contact them when we see certain certificates expiring. In ITGlue we added a note to those certificates and configured the alerts to ignore certificates with certain keywords in the notes field.

    We also have unmanaged clients that just buy licenses from us. We exclude those clients based on the "Organization Tags"

    The hudu alerting is very basic indeed!

    Alerting is super important for tracking all sorts of things. Lumping it all into ONE or FEW filtering options is not a good solution. A server that is coming up on end of warranty versus a LAPTOP that is coming up on warranty expiration is a COMPLETELY different thing. Please impliment ASAP.

    Agreed, need this badly. For example, we may not want workstation expiration alerts from Hudu, but other assets that we've created such as encryption certs we do want alerts for.

    We definitely need this to have differentiated alerts for Server expirations vs other custom assets expirations. For example we track compliance expirations for things like GRC and need to alert when that is expiring.

    Our use case is that we have Active Directory-issued device certificates that are pushed to a non-domain-joined device. We want to enter the certificate information in as a custom asset (Certificate) which has an expiration date. When it is 7-days before the expiration date, we want to generate an alert (email, webhook, etc.) for the device (custom asset) so we can renew the certificate and re-push it to the actual device.

    Currently, we can filter on assets, but that also generates alerts for all the warranty expirations as well, which is not something we desire.
