I understand this is a bit complex, but if your configuring your asset layouts with consistency Hudu simply needs to match fields that are the same type and title and present you with an option to show you how it's mapping and to fill out fields you will be losing because it cannot relate them. Happy to explain my idea further. Thanks.

Big please on this one. I was surprised to find out I couldn't move assets within the same company.

Yes please, transfer of assets would be awesome… Maybe some interface where we can create the field mappings between asset categories or something…

In March of 2024 it will be 4 years since this feature has been requested, and there still has not been any movement on this.
The fact that you can't currently do this is really frustrating. I agree reading most of the comments in this thread. As documentation matures sometimes you need to migrate data from one section to another. It's not very common that we would need to swap devices between 1 customer and another. It would be more common to swap them between asset categories. We had created a category for specific routers, and later determined it would be best to put them in the same container. Having to spend an hour moving 30 devices from one section to another does not make an effective use of this tool.
It would be nice if was actioned for development, who knows if/when this will ever come to fruition.

Unless I am really dumb, I have separate folders with the same asset layout for Actively used computers and for spare computers. When an employee leaves the company, I would like to very simply move that computer(Asset) from the Active layout to the spare layout. Perhaps someone has a better way t do this and can enlighten me? Thanks

It would be great to be able to drag assets from one layout to another (see picture).

I don't think this is possible with the way Asset Layouts are constructed. Each Asset Layout has its own set of fields. How would you move the data of an asset that belongs to one layout to another layout if the fields don't match?

Yes would like this as well. Just got Hudu and was shocked we cant do this. I even ran the script that copies all of ITG over to HUDU and Hudu went ahead and created now asset titles. For example: ITG-Internet/Wan Which turns out to be the modem but I want to move this to the asset called ISP Device (Modem/Router) Which I cant. In fact I cant move any asset anywhere within the company only within itself. So I cant movie ITG-Firewall to Firewall So Organization is an issue here everything looks ugly and scattered and I have multiple titles of similar names. I cant edit the titles and delete the asset group but cant move anything in it.
