Tools->Photos (Add this as a tool!)

Could we add a new tool that would be a collection of all the photos across assets? Basically a photo library that shows the asset the photo is linked to? This would allow us to add photos to the correct asset, but be able to get a quick visual view of a site as well.
This would be very helpful when trying to talk someone through someone onsite or getting an overview of what is in place at a site.

Jordan H.: I hope this is truly in progress. The connectwise location import has been “in progress” for 3 years. I unfortunately have lost hope in these improvements.

Sorting and clearly grouping the photos in order of time would be useful too. That way, we see the newest photos first and be able to look back at previous physical configurations.

We need ability to enter metadata or view metadata of the jpg or png file that was uploaded. Ability to enter a note about the photo is missing today, photos quickly have zero context in Hudu.

Is there an ETA on this?

I just emailed support about this yesterday... This would be great, so we can have an album for a client. It would also be great to have the asset that the picture is tagged to like a caption, so we know what/when that picture was taken.
My thought for a workaround was similar...create a "location" asset, where it could be a building, a floor, room, rack, etc. Would make these into "albums".
A cleaner solution would be to have a Photo Album that can have folders, sections, and have those assigned to another asset. This would also be able to "gather" all the photos that are already attached to the assets for the client.

So just to note on this, as we dealt with the same issue. I created an asset called "Locations". In it, we keep the physical address of the client's office, even if it's a single office business.
All photos, being the physical items they are, are bound to the Locations asset as opposed to say "photo of the server" attached to the "server" asset...because that doesn't make much sense.
Photos gives you the ability to caption them (not super keen on how this works, I think the caption would be better served
above
the photo, not below it. Would be nice to hover over a picture and have the caption pop out in context, so we don't have to open every photo to see captions). So detailing where the items are within the "Location" asset isn't much of a problem. My service manager kept uploading photos of modems and routers to "Network" assets we created to track LAN configurations and such. That was problematic, as was tagging them on the assets related to the physical items themselves because then you'd have to hunt to find a photo you knew you uploaded.
Just putting them all in "Locations" worked, and now we add the "Location" asset as a Related Asset so there's a quick link to all photos.
Being able to "move" photos from "asset" to "asset" would be nice, so if a "photos tool" to view the full collection becomes available we can move them back to a more 1to1 relationship with their devices.
Also would love to see pop out captions when hovering over photos, as mentioned above. It does show a caption under the photo, but it gets cut off rather quickly.

It would be nice to have an area to add photos... Such as site photos or documentation under assets for a cabinet, servers, etc.
