We’d love a native Zulip integration to receive structured notifications from Hudu—especially for flags, upcoming expirations, and other time-sensitive events.
Scope & goals
• Send actionable alerts from Hudu to Zulip streams/topics with clear formatting and deep links back to Hudu.• Reduce missed renewals and improve team response by routing messages to the right people and channels.Key capabilities
1. Event types• Asset/document flags (created/cleared/changed)• Expirations/renewals: passwords, certificates (SSL), domains, warranties, contracts, licenses, app secrets/keys, integration tokens• Assignments/ownership changes (asset → user/customer)• Sync failures or stale integrations (e.g., Microsoft/Intune/N-Central auth issues)2. Routing & formatting• Map Hudu customer/site/location to Zulip stream and optional topic (e.g., #alerts › ClientA)• Templated messages with key fields (who/what/when/severity) + deep link to the Hudu record• Optional @mentions for user groups (e.g., @noc, @service-desk)3. Controls• Per-event filters, thresholds, and rate limiting (digest vs. immediate)• Quiet hours / maintenance windows• Granular on/off toggles per customer/site/category4. Security & setup• Support Zulip bots and incoming webhooks (bot API key/token storage in Hudu, encrypted at rest)• Organization-level and per-customer credentials• Delivery retries and failure visibility in Hudu (audit log)5. (Nice to have) Bi-directional actions• Quick actions from Zulip (buttons/links) to acknowledge, snooze, or reassign a flag/expiration• Optional slash-command or bot message to create a Hudu task/flag from Zulip and auto-link the recordOutcome
A Zulip integration would turn Hudu’s time-critical metadata into timely, targeted, and traceable team notifications—improving SLA adherence, renewal hygiene, and incident response across customers without constant portal polling.
