Software Inventory Integration from N-Central (App-to-Device Linking and Visibility)

N-Central already provides detailed information about installed software per device through its API, but this data is not currently utilized effectively within Hudu.

In our environment, we maintain a list of all software used by each customer within Hudu’s documentation. However, we must currently create and update this information manually, which is both time-consuming and prone to errors.

We would like to see an enhanced N-Central integration that automatically imports and links installed software data to Hudu assets and software records.

The desired functionality would include:

• Retrieving per-device software inventories from N-Central’s API.• Automatically linking recognized applications to existing software documentation entries in Hudu.• Allowing users to view software data both ways:• From the Software record, see which devices have that app installed.• From the Device record, see a clean, structured list of installed and recognized software.• Supporting incremental updates so new or changed installations are reflected automatically.

Over time, as more software is documented and matched, the system could increasingly automate application identification — reducing manual work and keeping customer documentation accurate and up to date.

Currently, the N-Central integration either exposes raw, unstructured data (difficult to use) or only basic information like device name, user, and OS.

By leveraging the full software inventory capabilities of N-Central, Hudu could transform this into a powerful and actionable view of each customer’s environment.

In short, we’re requesting a Software Inventory Integration that synchronizes and links installed applications from N-Central into Hudu, enabling structured visibility and automated documentation maintenance across all managed devices.
