Skip invalid values (e.g. Default String) on connected fields instead of syncing them

Some systems report placeholder values instead of real data. A common case is a serial number syncing as "Default String" or generic OEM text. It would be better if connected fields recognized clearly invalid values like these and synced nothing instead of overwriting the field with junk.
