We often have tables inside the fields, but they are significantly compressed because there are columns to the left and right.

The low hanging fruit is moving the field descriptions to above the content. The right column containing processes/passwords etc may be harder to deal with. Perhaps make it collapsable? or in panels on the top? Or give us the ability to select different layouts?
